Youth Media Conference

What: This day event includes 3 parts: Students will watch the program of short films – YMC Shorts – Inspiration for Creators. Followed by a Panel Discussion with guests to discuss the films and talk about the craft of filmmaking and the various elements of film production. Finally, at the Behind the Scenes Career Expo, students will speak one-on-one with representatives from post-secondary schools and potential employers from the media industries (VFX, animation, production…).

Talent Lab

What: From grades 8 to 12, weekday matinee screenings of award-winning feature films. In addition, we make every effort to have a guest in attendance at every screening for a Q&A. The Talent Lab program includes the option of attending a workshop, and all films are accompanied by a study guide with relevant information about the films and suggested discussion questions, activities, and resources.
When: Wednesday, April 13, 2022
Where: Vancity Theatre, Vancouver

Youth Filmmakers Showcase

What: Young BC filmmakers show us what they can do with a camera and their imagination! Made with friends or their Media/Film instructor, the selected short films can receive some incredible prizes.
When: Only Available online throughout the festival dates – April 3-13, 2022
