For Laura, being the daughter of a professional circus clown has its advantages. Life is full of surprises, playful performances, and lavish costumes. The regular rules of childhood simply do not exist. Being on stage is exciting and there’s a pride in bringing joy to so many young people and their families. The only  drawback for Laura (Jasmine Lemée) is the travel. Now that Laura is 12, the realities of being on the road with her single father, Bill (Patrick Huard, Bon Cop, Bad Cop) and his mute assistant are setting in. Laura craves a home that isn’t on wheels. Thanks to her new teacher (Sophie Laurin, The Barbarian Invasions), she’s able to apply her academic potential and relishes the opportunity to attend school everyday. It’s up to her free spirit father now. Can he accept that the apple of his eye has fallen so far from the paternal tree? My Very Own Circus is a heartwarming story about a complex father/daughter relationship faced with the inevitable growing pains that stem from a free form life in the performing arts.
