Movie Trailer

The year is 2144 and the earth, as far the eye can see, has frozen over. Sumi, a young human child with a supernatural connection to the stars, has survived this harsh landscape by the paternal care of a polar bear, affectionately known as Mama. Though Sumi doesn’t know any human language, she asserts with mostly gestures and grunts, her expressions communicate a deep emotional resonance. Disrupting their isolated world, a gang of hunters has tracked them with the intent to kill. Though Sumi is brave and chooses to fight, she narrowly escapes a surprise attack and is spiraled into an existence of solitude in this vast winter wasteland. Now at the threat of death by Morad warriors, Sumi must engage with other humans to survive. An unlikely friendship with an otherworldly girl invites Sumi to expand her horizons and trust in more than the bright cosmos that have guided her all these years. An epic dystopia of gruesome survival, Polaris is an entirely original and spectacular world, spun from the mind of Yukon’s KC Carthew (writer/director R2R 17’ Opening Film, The Sun at Midnight).
